I know you probably heard about double cleansing method, a lot of people have been raving about this method lately and become more popular aspect to a skincare routine, and it is exactly what it is sounds like, cleansing the skin twice! The concept behind double cleansing is to first remove whatever is on the skin makeup, waterproof sunscreen, dirt and oil, then cleansing the skin a second time using water-based cleanser to actually get the skin clean. Today I will be sharing my thoughts on my first ever Cleansing oil the Cosnori Micro Active Cleansing Oil.
What is it?

Overall thoughts
I had never used a cleansing oil before but heard a lot of great things about it. as we all know, the first step in Korean skincare routine is oil cleansing, and for it you have two options. You either choose a cleansing oil (like this one) or a cleansing balm. I’ve tried both. And I’ve got to say, using cleansing oil, particularly this one, has been a delight.
I have combination skin and get the occasional pimple. The oil has a very light clean scent and feels great on the skin. It does an impressive job of removing daily makeup, including stubborn waterproof formulas, like my waterproof sunscreen. It effectively cleanses the skin without leaving behind any residue, making it feel refreshed and clean. It emulsifies very well upon contact with water, rinsing off cleanly without any greasy residue but still make sure to double cleanse using water-based cleanser after.
Does it sting? No it doesn’t sting my eyes and my skin.
Although it’s light when washed off leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean and hydrated. You might also know this has pore clogging agents in it, based on my research I found that Ethylhexyl Palmitate is rated 4 on comedogenicity scale which means it has the potential to cause clogged pores and Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil a well-known issue with bergamot oil (apart from the fragrance allergens) is that it contains phototoxic compounds called furanocoumarins, but more commonly furanocoumarin-free version are used in most cosmetic products.
Still if you have sensitive and acne-prone skin and prefer fragrance-free products this cleansing oil is not for you. As oily-combination skin, I have not had issues with it clogging my pores after using for weeks, but approaching my period, I broke out around my mouth area in huge bumps! (Normally in my pre-period week I only get small bumps) But I don’t know if my skin just hated it pre-period week or if it messed me up in general. But keep in mind a lot of products don’t work on first try or overnight, so give this cleansing oil a chance! my skin is basically getting used to it, so I continuously use it for few more weeks, then week after my period my huge bumps are gone! and never comeback. So, this cleansing oil is not the culprit!
I had a feeling I was going to like it even before I tried it. In terms of results, I can only speak from my experience as someone with oily-combination skin, what’s really noticeable to me, after using this for quite a while, is that my face appears more brighter and become less oily in my T-zone.
My advice for those who love to try different products, please be patient when trying new things and love yourself in the process. Your skin is beautiful no matter what.
